On Friday, June 2nd, our beloved Ben Edwards was injured while diving into a swimming pool. He fractured his C5 through C7 vertebrae, and suffered damage to his spinal cord. There is amazingly no evidence of any brain damage. He has undergone a surgery to stabilize the area and remove any debris. Currently, he has mobility in both arms, but has no sensation below his chest. The doctors at UAMS Little Rock, where he is being treated, have told us that we now have to wait and see how his body will heal and repair itself, and that every spinal cord injury is different. He has already shown progress during the last week and we are hopeful for continued advances in his condition. Right now we ask all of our friends, family, and acquaintances to pray for our son and brother, and put as many positive thoughts towards him as possible. He has a long road ahead of him, but we firmly believe that God is in control of the situation, and that miracles are possible.
