Kevin Waller’s life changed five years ago when he was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. And was told that he would need a lung transplant to survive. Kevin is now required to use oxygen at all times. Transplants are lifesaving but very expensive.
Over the years Kevin worked as a nursing assistant in a major hospital, and as a caregiver for many private patients. He gave loving care to an elderly neighbor for many years, and she adored him. It’s because of his very caring nature that his friends and I want to ensure that Kevin gets his new lung.

After many years of helping others, Kevin is now the one who needs our help. Transplantation and follow-up medication and treatments are very expensive. Even with Medicare coverage, there are copays and deductibles, medications and follow-up treatments, costs can run into tens of thousands of dollars.

To help with the financial burden of Kevin’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southeast Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
