Thank you for your support!
In January of 2017, Chris was being treated for a sinus infection. On January 16, he woke up, got ready for work, and decided that he needed to go to the ER before work. He was having trouble breathing and thought the sinus infection had turned into pneumonia.
In reality, the sinus infection had entered into his bloodstream and the virus attacked his heart. Within 48 hours, his heart had been destroyed and the left side was working at 5-10% of normal.
Chris was in the hospital locally for ten days. He was stabilized, released, and referred to University of Chicago for a heart transplant.
He has been undergoing testing for six months to be added to the transplant list. He is currently doing the last few tests to be listed for transplant. Once this is done, t and plant could come in four weeks or two years. It really just depends on how he is doing and where he is on the list when a heart becomes available.
In the mean time, he cannot work. We also have a son who is disabled and medically fragile. He also sees doctors at the University of Chicago. LUckily, when our son has appointments, we are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. Unfortunately, when Big Chris has appointments and when he gets his transplant, we will be unable to this. We don't have to tell you, that even with a discount, the price of hotels in the Chicago area are pricey. Add to that gas, food, and parking, plus all of our regular bills....
We greatly appreciate any help. It all adds up. We have a long road ahead of us. All donations made here are tax deductible. We will continue use to update as we progress through this process. Thank you again!
God bless you and your family. I have known your mother and father in law since she and i were in high school. They are wonderful people and i know you and their girls are wonderful people also. I am not currently working right now but hope to be very soon. If i do get it i will be sending more $ to help and i am still sending prayers for you, Christopher , and all of the family. God bless you and yours.
