Part 2… And so the Journey begins AGAIN! I need ANOTHER kidney transplant!
In 2018 my kidneys began to FAIL for the second time! The doctors inform you of this possibility BUT … You never think it is going to happen to YOU! I prayed and claimed my first kidney for a LIFETIME!
There is a big difference this time for me at the age of 35 now. There a more options concerning your dialysis treatment. At this point I am determined to live the BEST life with the Best outlook possible. I am taking a more active role in the kind of treatment administered. I have been trained in Home Hemodialysis. I am more comfortable during my treatments at home instead of in the clinic. But of course that is a PERSONAL CHOICE for everyone.
I had to temporarily suspend my classes at furthering my education. Hopefully, I can resume in the Spring. My intentions are to complete my degree and help others along the way. In order to perform at my absolute BEST and at the HIGHEST level my transplant is needed.
However, finding a kidney for a transplant and is never easy. If you would like to consider donating a kidney to me please contact the Living Donor Coordinator, Amy Woodard at UNC Hospitals Toll – Free 1-888-263-5293.
Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Thank you to everyone that contributed to my last FUNDRAISER. Even with insurance I will face mounting bills and other very high expenses. I will continue to need your assistance with the unexpected financial burdens: co-pays, deductibles, clinic visits, post-transplant medications and travel expenses.
To help with the financial burden of uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in my honor, Krystal Rich with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to help patients and families in need for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law and are held by Help Hope Live in the South Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund in honor of Krystal Rich. Donations are allocated by Help Hope Live based on financial need for medical expenses.
On behalf of me and her family, I thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity.
With our hearts filled with gratitude,
Krystal Rich and Family

Part 1..
Krystal J. Rich is the daughter of Stanley and Angela Rich. As a juvenile, she had a kidney transplant. Krystal is now 29 years old and feels blessed to have had normal kidney function for the past 12 years. During the past twelve years of being illness free, she discovered a passion for working with the elderly and offering her services in various nursing homes and assisted living facilities here in Sampson County.
Over the past year, her kidney function has gotten increasingly worse. Based on her previous kidney failure experience her treatment options are limited to dialysis treatments or a kidney transplant. A transplant would offer her more freedom and the ability to live a longer, healthier, more normal life. A transplant would also give her more time to do the fun things she enjoy most, like working with the elderly again, spending time with her family and friends and having the opportunity to possibly marry in the future have a family of her own.
However, finding a kidney for a transplant and is not easy. Asking a family member, a friend or perhaps someone who is unknown to me to consider donating a kidney to her is difficult, but it greatly improves Krystal’s chances of getting a transplant. If donating a kidney to Krystal is something you would like to consider please contact her Living Donor Coordinator, Amy Woodard at UNC Hospitals Toll – Free 1-888-263-5293.
