Many of you know my loving husband Scott Garnand. He is the wonderful father of our daughter Raylee Jo and a son, brother, uncle and good friend to many. Scott works for the City of Bethany, enjoys gardening, playing music and most of all entertaining Raylee Jo.
What you may not know is that for the past 8 years, Scott has been suffering with end stage renal failure. He is currently doing peritoneal dialysis at home every night for eight and a half hours. He is thankful that he is still able to work.
Scott’s doctors at Integris Baptist Medical Center have told us that Scott’s only option now is a life-saving kidney transplant. He is currently actively listed on the kidney transplant waiting list and a potential living donor is being tested. We have come to realize that even with insurance, there will be many expenses that must be paid for out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, and Scott will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
A fundraising campaign in Scott’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. If you wish to help Scott, then please consider making a contribution.Your support is crucial! A fundraising committee has been formed and we are planning several exciting and fun events. Any ideas or help you can give is welcome!
On behalf of Scott, myself, and our families we thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity and support.

Scott received a transplant on May 20, 2013. His cousin Leah donated her kidney. Since then, both Scott and Leah are doing great. Scott welcomed his second daughter into the world on March 11, 2014.
