Family and friends of Jacqie Whitmore are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Jacqie has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. Jacqie and Christy ( her daughter and living donor) have made it out of surgery and are doing well. Jacqie is currently in the ICU and we are hoping she will be able to start eating soon, be moved to the surgical floor, and be able to be reunited with Christy. Pain control has been a little bit of a struggle at times but she is very compliant and never complains. They are both troupers and we are praying for a speedy recovery.

Jacqie is a loving mother of 6, grandma to 22, and great grandma to 1 brand new grandson. She is well loved by many in the community and known for how caring and loving she is. She is always the one that takes in any strays, weather it is an animal or person, in need of love and support. She has a love of flowers and worked for greenhouses and landscapers for years. Unfortunately she can no longer do what she loves or take in and care for anyone right now, including herself, due to advanced stage autoimmune disease called PBC that has attacked her liver. Fortunately finding a willing living donor for her was not an issue, but due to the long road to recovery after the transplant she will need to stay in hospital housing for up to 90 days. This is a financial burden that she is unable to afford, but vital for her safe recovery. Jacqie has a lot of life yet to live, many grand and great grandchildren to watch grow, and many adventures still to have. We all appreciate all the love and support we have had and will keep everyone updated on her road to recovery.
