On June 15, 2017 Jacob suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury following a devastating rollover car accident. Now a paraplegic with no feeling or movement below his waist of his lower extremities, Jacob has spent the last 4 months in four different hospitals and will eventually be moved again to have skin grafting done on a 3rd degree burn that he has on his right leg. As you can imagine, the care he needs is very expensive and the family needs to do some modifications to their home before Jacob makes his transition home.

Jacob recently celebrated his 20th birthday while in the ICU this year. He has always marched to the beat of his own drum. Although he did not graduate with his class in 2015, he went back to school and got his high school diploma in 2016. He is usually a home body and our family describes him as our “gentle giant.” In late April of this year Jacob left home to spread his wings. He started working in Arizona living with family. That was cut short when the accident happened.
