Thank you for your support!
From my daughter...Words cannot describe how grateful I am that my mom was able to receive her kidney transplant last month. Thanks to the selflessness of her organ donor she was here, before the twins were awake with bells and whistles on ready for Easter morning! Had my mom not received her transplant, she would’ve been too weak to join us. Instead she scooped Stiles from his crib and took both twins through their Easter trail to their baskets! Not a day goes by that I won’t think of her donor. He gave our family the gift of life and we are so blessed. #donatelife #weneedyourorgans #lifebanc
Hi all. This whole transplant thing came about so quickly. I think that I am still in shock. Because these medications are incredibly expensive even after insurance It was recommended to me by the transplant team that I leave my account open. I am still waiting for the final bill for the transplant but so far my portion after insurance is approx $50,000. Thank you to everyone that has donated. I can’t tell you how much it helped me. I am getting a bit stronger every day and am so thankful to my wonderful family, wonderful friends, and most of all my selfless donor
Hi..great news...I was listed on Feb 8 for a kidney and a miracle happened that a kidney from Cincinnati became available that was a perfect match last week. It is so rare that this happens so quickly. Pretty sore and on tons of meds but the new addition is doing great. Life is good. Thank you for all of you support and prayers. Much love to all
Hi everyone. I am in desperate need of a kidney transplant. Last September I got sick and was taken to the emergency room where they found that my hemoglobin was only 5 and that my kidneys were only working at 10% and that I was in stage 4 kidney failure. I have had multiple blood transfusions as with kidney failure your body does not make blood cells properly. I am now in ESRD (end stage renal disease). I am on dialysis 7 days nights per week..all night. I have a daughter, Ryan Hunt, and son in law, Cody Hunt, and a very close friend of the family, Taylor Quinn, who have really committed to helping me get back and forth to doctor appointments and for testing, labs, etc. I desperately want to get better so that I can enjoy my two beautiful Grandchildren, 9 month old twins, Carter and Stiles. Transplants are lifesaving but incredibly expensive for the surgery, countless labs, dialysis, life saving medications, deductibles, co-insurance etc. It will be impossible for me to meet the qualifications to get on the donor list without showing that I can cover the costs of taking care of a new kidney with the anti rejection medications and follow up care that is needed for life. I have insurance but it only covers 80% of the $250,000 surgery and only a small portion of the anti rejection medications that are upwards of $3,000 per month. I am so embarrassed but I can't do this alone. My medical fees are already adding up quickly and my kidney medicine that I am on now is approximately $1,300 per month.
To help with this financial burden the Cleveland Clinic recommended HelpHopeLive as a fundraising platform. This organization is a nonprofit organization that holds the money in a fund for transplant related expenses only. All donations are tax deductible. Any amount raised will help me get on the transplant list and help pay for the 20% that I am responsible for as well as the anti rejection medications. I chose to fundraise with a HelpHopeLive.org because it assures accountability for all funds raised and tax deductibility for all donors. Support from my family, friends, and community is critical for any chance of getting listed and getting a transplant. Please know that any donation counts and is truly a gift and blessing for my future. No matter how big or how small the donation is it gets me one step closer to my dream of being able to watch my beautiful Grandchildren grow up a bit. They are the absolute loves of my life as is my wonderful daughter, Ryan Hunt, and son in law Cody Hunt and of course my "adopted" son Taylor Quinn. Without these three I would not be here today. Please consider helping. Again, I am so embarrassed to ask for help but this disease has taken almost everything and is totally devastating physically, emotionally, and most of all financially. Thank you so much to those who have donated. Words can't say how much it is appreciated by not only myself but my family as well...thank you.
My name is Randi Blair Nara and I am in End Stage Renal Failure and need a kidney transplant. You may remember me from The Cleveland Clinic as I worked there for many many years but had to retire in 2014 due to my spine issues. I have one daughter, Ryan Hunt and twin Grandchildren, Carter and Stiles that are 8 months old. They are my "EVERYTHING". My hope is to get a transplant so that I can be around for a while to watch my Grandkids grow up. I am on peritoneal dialysis now and on incredibly expensive medications that are not covered by insurance. IF and when I get a transplant I will be responsible for 20% of the surgery which could be upward of $50,000 depending if I have a live donor or a deceased donor. The anti rejection medications that I will need to take for life are approximately $10,000 per year. I am very embarrassed to ask for help but there is no way that I can do this on my own. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated and if you can't I understand. Every little bit helps. Also, if you are not registered to be a donor please consider doing so. You can register online or at the BMV. I am a registered donor but it's too late for me for my kidneys but my other organs are fine and will help someone someday. Just imagine how many people we could help if we were all donors. This horrible disease can devistate your life in a blink of an eye and take everything you have physically, emotionally, and more devastating....financially. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my family.
