Family and friends of Raul Alcances are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Raul has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. My name is Raul Asence Alcances. I am married to a very beautiful woman who I am very lucky to have and I have a fifteen-year-old daughter who is my hero. I say that my daughter is my hero because of how she has lovingly inspired my life. She helped me to quit smoking, encouraged me to work harder in life, and to be a more responsible person. I could not ask for more than this wonderful family.

I was born in Manila Philippines and migrated to California with my sister when I was fourteen years old. I also have two half-brothers and a sister. I enjoy traveling, watching movies, trying out different type of foods, and of course spending time with my family.

Early in 2010, I was diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease. I was told that I had high blood pressure for a long time. Unfortunately, I did not realize this until it was too late.

I started dialysis in December 2014 and I have been going since. I am thankful for health insurance otherwise I would not be able to afford the needed treatments. I am the only one in our family who brings home a paycheck. Doctor visits and medications can be expensive and overwhelming. As I learned more about having a transplant, I also learned just how expensive the life-long medications will be.

I have never been the person to ask for a donation, but my family and I need your help.

Thank you and God Bless us all!

Raul
