Family and friends of Geoff Sansom are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with his upcoming liver transplant.
As you are no doubt aware, Geoff was in critical condition in the ICU at St. Luke’s in Houston and is still hospitalized awaiting a liver and kidney transplant. His medical expenses have already piled up and greatly exceed the amount covered by his insurance. Geoff has always been generous and willing to help others; can you help him now as he copes with this financially crippling health crisis?
Geoffrey has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.

Thank you for your support!
Geoffrey was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon and is now home waiting for a new liver. Last night he had to purchase a new prescription med that costs $2000 a month but is not covered by insurance. Needless to say, we are so grateful for your support!
A HUGE THANK-YOU to all who have contributed to Geoff's "campaign." You are the best!
In August, 2017, Geoffrey Sansom was admitted to the emergency room at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Houston Medical Center with symptoms of liver failure. He spent over three weeks in the ICU in critical condition, during which time he was intubated and put into a medically-induced coma, treated with medication and blood transfusions to raise his dangerously low blood pressure, and underwent multiple endoscopies to locate and stop esophageal bleeding. After over a month in the hospital, Geoff continues to undergo kidney dialysis, to fight infections, and to undergo physical therapy to regain the use of his hands and legs, which became useless because of being motionless for so long. As of now he is awaiting a liver and kidney transplant.
Many of his friends, family members, and colleagues in the legal profession have shown their love for Geoff during this crisis by visiting, calling, texting, and always with the question, “What can I do to help?” The family is humbled by your prayers and messages of love and hope. There is a way you can help Geoff now that he is off the critical list and has hope of recovery. This medical ordeal has been catastrophically expensive, and will continue to be so, especially the post-transplant treatment, which will include expensive anti-rejection medication and frequent visits to clinics. The cost of treatments not covered by insurance, as well as the premiums, deductibles, and copays, continues to mount, the total cost probably approaching half a million dollars. And Geoff’s earning capacity will be diminished as he takes time to recover.
The family greatly appreciates your help and is eagerly anticipating the day Geoff can leave the hospital with a new liver and kidney and look forward to a long and healthy life!
With love and gratitude,
Jan, Kate, Steve, Alisa, Carrie, and Jill
