I want to thank everyone ahead of time for assisting me with this huge medical financing. There comes a time when you have to swallow your pride and ask for help so here I am. I am originally from the Greater Boston area, growing up in Whitman MA, home of the Toll House Cookie!. I graduated from nursing school back in 1974, and within the past ten yrs I graduated with a BS from Salem State University (BS in Criminal Justice) and had been accepted to Central CT State Univ, for a MS in Criminology. My lungs have taken a beating over the years and being at work as a med/surg nurse was no exception. It was here after the third exposure to chemical fumes from floor wax stripper I had to have my trachea and bronchi rebuild, the result was an awesome firm airway but somehow MRSA got to my lungs and put holes through my lungs. I moved to Akron/Cleveland to pursue for a lung transplant and I am almost at the listing stage, it all looks so good. So anyone who can donate, I will be forever grateful. Thanks!

Thank you for your support!
I'm still waiting to hear from the transplant group, meanwhile my oxygenation in my blood ( sats) drop very low when I'm active these past couple days. Today I was able to get back on the Treadmill! Did my weights as well.
Still trying to get into the Christmas spirit.
Thanks for your help. No amount is too small. Its going to help me more so when my transplant takes place. Peace!
Hi Everyone, here it is November 2 already! In five days I go for what is hopefully my final evaluation testing! I hope by the end of this month I get the thumbs up!!! Meanwhile I have fought off another infection and really getting reconditioned which is an important part of being listed. The surgeons and docs want each transplantee to be in top shape to help with the post transplant healing process. I'm a bit nervous but excited at the same time. I'll keep you all in the loop! Ciao!
Hello everyone, Happy Halloween its 10/31. Today I have to go to the Audiologist. 7 yrs ago, I was fitted with a cochlear implant to finally let me hear from my nerve deaf left ear. Quite the miracle! Today I go for a routine hearing test since I have Meneiere's Syndrome which afflicts the hearing and my neuroaudiology doc keeps an eye on my right inner ear for changes in my hearing. So far my Meniere's is in check!
So a week from today I'm hopefully doing my last day of prep testing for my lung transplant following the next day with one of the transplant surgeons. Could the Listing day be far off? Send some positive affirmations my way folks please? More to come soon.
Hi everyone, thanks to everyone once again for your donations toward my lung transplant. Its a tremendous undertaking but I will once again be able to breathe again without 02 tanks. I saw my PCP today and he said my sinus infection luckily has not shifted into my lungs, oh and my hair, I have always had great hair, its falling out! My doc said its not my thyroid so he believes its genetics. urgh. So my next big appointments are 11/7 when I undergo all the tests and I meet with the transplant team followed by 11/08 seeing one of the transplant surgeons who will explain all the surgical stuff and I can ask questions I got a bunch! So once again, thank you guys! Happy Safe Halloween!
Hi everyone, well things are going well except I'm fighting a sinus infection. I've been plagued by these infections for years now and I'm now paying attention to the first signs and symptoms so I can let the doc know and he can put me on antibiotics. The drug of choice for my sinus infections is doxycycline! Lets hope it does the trick because yesterday I was feeling short of breath, today so far, knock on wood, I'm doing ok. Thank you all for your contributions. I'll be sending off a note to "y'all" soon. Meanwhile keep breathing!
I promise a new picture by days end!
