Jerry is a 66 year old man who needs a life saving liver transplant. Around the time Jerry retired, he found out that he had non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. In August of 2017, doctors told him that he had liver cancer and that the only cure is a transplant. Even with insurance, the cost of transplant can quickly become overwhelming and the life-long anti rejection medications can be several thousand a month.
Jerry lives in White House Tennesee with his wife of 47 years, Shirley. Together they have two sons, three grandsons, and two great-grandsons. A truck driver by trade, Jerry was forced to retire at age 62 and has been battling health issues since. With a transplant, he will have many more years with his wife and family and is looking forward to doing his wood working again.
To help with the financial burden of the uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in honor of Jerry Uhles with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to help patients and families in need for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law and are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund in honor ofJerry Uhles. Donations are allocated by Help Hope Live based on financial need for medical expenses. Please consider making a donation today.
On behalf of Jerry, we thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
