Candelario Lamboy or “Candy” as he is known by his close friends is a 78-year-old man in need of a life saving kidney transplant. Candelario has been a perinatal dialysis patient since 2013 with nightly treatments. Although this is keeping him alive, it is also draining and keeping him from living a full productive life. Candelario wants to continue working to provide the family; his wife Carmen of 58 years, 6 Adult children and spouses, 5 grandchildren and to contribute to the needs of his community.
Candelario is 1 of 18 siblings and was born on October 9, 1939. He and his siblings became the first generation to arrive in the United States in 1953. He has spent his whole life providing for his family and volunteering for his community. Candelario has been an active member of the Hispanic and business community in Philadelphia, PA. As a member of the Hispanic community he has championed several nonprofit organizations and fostered political change creating wider Hispanic representation in both city and state governments across the tri-state area. As a self employed business owner; he launched Lamboy Furniture Inc. and continues to be one of the oldest Hispanic businesses on the Golden Block/North 5th Street commercial corridor in Philadelphia, PA. Candelario is looking forward to continuing his efforts but until that time, he needs a helping hand. Candelario needs your friendship by helping with his cause for a living kidney transplant.
After extensive testing, Candelario’s doctors at Jefferson University Hospital have determined him as a good candidate for a kidney transplant. Transplants are life saving but financially draining. Even with insurance Candelario is facing very high financial expenses such as co pays and anti-rejection medication which he will need to take for the rest of his life.
To help with the financial burden of Candelario’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live. Help Hope Live is a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law and are held by Help Hope Live in the Kidney Transplant Fund. Funds are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
Please consider a contribution to our living kidney fundraising campaign. Your support is critical to the overall success of Candelario’s health and financial struggles. Please know that your contribution counts and is tax deductible. For credit card contributions, please click the Donate now button.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and contribution!
With sincere gratitude,
The Lamboy Family

We would love to join you for your night at Nunzios but unfortunately we cannot. We are sure the food will be outstanding, and the friends coming together to support you will be a night we are sad to miss. Best of luck with your fundraising endeavors and enjoy the evening.
