On September 21st, 2011 my life changed in a matter of seconds when I was the passenger in a serious car accident. The accident left me with a C-7 complete spinal cord injury – I have no movement or feeling from the chest down. Along with that I also sustained a compound fracture in my right arm and a fractured eye orbit.
After two weeks in the ICU and three major surgeries, I went to Shepherd Center in Atlanta for intense rehab. There I worked hard to finally regain full movement and strength in my arms and hands after months of long and strenuous days.
I am now 21 and it has been almost three years since my injury, yet I still face many uninsured injury related expenses such as: ongoing payments for hospital bills, co-pays and deductibles, rehabilitation therapy, exercise equipment, home modifications and modified transportation. This presents a financial challenge my family and I cannot meet alone.
To help offset her uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign in Leah’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant and catastrophic injury communities for 30 years. All contributions are tax-deductible., are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution today.
Thank you for your support and prayers for Leah.

Thanks to all for making the Spring Raffle so successful. I couldn’t ask for better supporters!.
I am doing a Spring Raffle to help raise money for my continued therapy, medical equipment and supplies, or even (my favorite possibility) a new form of therapy that promises healing.
The raffle tickets are –
1 for $5
7 for $30
25 for $100
Each ticket enters you to win as well as help me get to where I need to be to heal and thrive.
40% of all money raised will be used for prizes, which will depend on total tickets sold/money received.
Thank you all so much for the overwhelming support. It is incredibly touching to feel so connected to all of you, whether we are close friends or strangers. I cannot thank everyone enough who has already donated. No matter how small the amount, it is going to make a huge difference in my life.
Please share this with your friends and hopefully we’ll give thousands of people a chance to win and at the same time, raise money to help with my continued rehabilitation. Virtual hugs!
