Help Florenda get a new kidney!
Florenda Ryder is in need of a kidney transplant and needs the help of her friends, family, and community to make it happen. Transplants are life-saving but very expensive.

July 13 Florenda was blessed with a new kidney! She is recovering at home and doing great. As part of the paired exchange program, I will be donating a kidney in the future. This program allowed Florenda to get a kidney years faster than expected. We are so thankful to God, family and friends, and the staff at St. Marys in Grand Rapids that made all of this possible. We look forward to a future of health for Florenda!

Here is an article explaining "paired kidney exchange". Its something that I am doing to help Florenda get a kidney. Since I am not a match for Florenda, I am willing to donate a kidney to someone else who has a willing donor that does not match them, but they might be a match for Flor. It increases the chance and time frame for a transplant. I have done the lab work and everything looked great, so now I just need to do a stress test and ultrasound February 14. That should be it for testing. So, if you had thought about getting tested but your blood type was not O, you can still test for this program. Testing is paid for by St. Marys.
