Family and friends of Nicholas (Niko) Giammanco are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. Niko has been in the battle of his life from the day he walked into the hospital on May 5, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. From being in the hospital for two months, Hospice for another 2 months, to moving up to North Carolina, Niko has shown how positive attitude, strength and faith can truly make a difference in healing.
While being with family in North Carolina has proven to have a positive affect on Niko’s health, his healthcare requires a liver transplant at Duke Hospital which is over 4 hours away from his family’s home.
In preparation for his liver transplant Niko and his father Anthony, who is his caretaker, are required to reside in Durham, NC to be readily available for surgery once a liver match is found. Unfortunately, with this comes the loss of income for Niko’s dad as he had to leave his job and the financial burden of maintaining two homes for the time leading up to his transplant as well as the months in recovery post surgery.
Your donation will help to ease the stress and worry of financially maintaining two places during the time in which Niko needs to focus on his health. In addition, Niko faces a long road to recovery ahead which includes physical therapy, home health assistance, trips back and forth to Duke and varied other medical expenses.
Nicholas (Niko) has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
