Bogie needs our help.

In 2015, he was diagnosed with ideopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Unfortunately, the disease progressed rapidly. A successful lung transplant was Bogie’s only hope for survival.

Bogie had a tough couple weeks but is back on the road to recovery! Right about the time he was supposed to get dismissed from Madonna 2 weeks ago, he suffered some setbacks that put him back in the hospital at Clarkson/UNMC. However, he has been doing well the last few days and they are hoping to dismiss him from the hospital soon. At that point, the plan will be for Bogie to go home! Please continue your prayers for Bogie and for Nancy as she continues to be his rock and soon his full-time caretaker once they get to go home.

P.S. Bogie is still not able to eat solid foods. He will continue therapy for being able to eat/swallow and is looking forward to being able to eat again and maybe have a few Diet Cokes! In the meantime, he told us the closest thing he gets to “real food” is “thicken’d chicken.” Don’t let the fancy name fool you – it’s just chicken broth with a thickening agent! Keep sending positive thoughts for Bogie to be able to eat some real chicken (maybe from Popeye’s?) soon!

Bogie was moved to the acute rehab floor at Madonna Hospital as of March 9th. This will be his last stop before home. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to undergo all his therapies.
