Bogie needs our help.

In 2015, he was diagnosed with ideopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Unfortunately, the disease progressed rapidly. A successful lung transplant was Bogie’s only hope for survival.

Since we last updated, Bogie has experienced several setbacks. He is currently in the hospital at Nebraska Medicine.

After having some bad episodes, Bogie underwent a 10-day test to see if his own antibodies were attacking his new lung. They took out his antibodies and put someone else’s antibodies in, every other day for 10 days, to see if that would help. Luckily that procedure seemed to work and they found out that of the 3 antibodies that were attacking the lung, 2 are now completely gone and 1 is very low. This is great news.

At this time, Bogie has a trach in again and cannot talk. He is able to sit up in a chair again, which was not the case for a while.

All we can do is continue to pray as he needs to get strong enough to be able to have a full stay at the rehab hospital so he can eventually go home. Keep the prayers coming.
