Thank you for your support!
Hi,
My sister has made a tremendous amount of progress this year. However, she still hasn't reached her ultimate goal of walking. She works hard daily, attending physical therapy appointments, mastering daily activities that we might take for granted and many additional tasks to reach her goal.
Unfortunately, a more in-depth, intense physical therapy sessions are not covered by insurance, she needs to take trips to her original rehab center in CO for check-ups and to participate in new innovative equipment only available at this state of the art center, house adjustments to accommodate her needs and possibly modifying her existing car or buying a car that will allow her to be independent and get her back and forth.
She has come along way, but there is still a long way to go.
Keep pushing, Sis...you are loved by many and I know you are in a lot of prayers!
Last November, our daughter Stacy Donnelly fell down a flight of stairs following the Thanksgiving holiday. She suffered a spinal cord injury. Now a paraplegic, Stacy has no function of her legs and has spent three months in a rehabilitation hospital and will soon be released to continue additional outside rehabilitation therapy here in Kansas City.
In spite of struggles and obstacles Stacy will face she is determined that she will walk again. With her family and friends by her side showing much needed support and her willingness to move forward I know she will accomplish anything she sets out to do. She wants to be able to return to work and be able to enjoy other outside activities she did prior to her accident. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t stop by her gym and do her usual workouts. She and her fiancé had just bought a house prior to her accident and was so excited to be fixing it up with many ideas she had. With their pets in tow it was their dream house they always wanted.
Thank you so much for your support and contribution to help Stacy fight to get her independence back.
Sincerely,
Marcia Donnelly, Stacy’s Mother

Hi. My name is Brianna Ganson. We live in Lee\'s Summit, too! My Dad went to Craig about 6 years ago. We love that place. He also spent a lot of time at Next Step. It is seriously amazing what they can do...especially if you are mentally prepared to do the work. It sounds like you are making wonderful strides and are working hard. I would love to help out. I saw that there was a Mice Race on the Next Step website, but I am not sure how to buy tickets, etc. It said to come to this site, but I don\'t see any information. You can email me at: [email protected] or I will just keep checking back here. I look forward to seeing you walk!

Sue and I wish Stacy continued success in her recovery. May your upcoming holidays be filled with joy and happiness.

Stacy - I don't know you, but I know your dad. I'm guessing by the fight I see through posts, etc. in you, that you have a lot of him in you! My favorite verse is Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
I hope and pray for you that you have courage beyond measure and at times when you feel discouraged, God would commission angels to fight for you and his Holy Spirit would replace your discouragement very quickly with great hope for the next step.
