Cathy is need of a Double Lung Transplant

Cathy have been battling with lung disease along with COPD, emphysema, and asthma for the past 10 years. She has come to the point where a double lung transplant is needed to survive and to have a better quality of life. We’re asking friends and family to join us in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help with expenses Cathy and Rick will face immediately after the surgery, including the cost of lodging near the transplant center in Phoenix, AZ where they will be staying for multiple weeks following her discharge.

My mom is back at their apartment and doing well. They found out that she has a fungal infection in her lungs. They believe it is from medications. So they are working to change medications to hopefully fix the problem. So the good news, it wasn’t from anything she did. Yay. She is tired from the antibiotics and everything they did to figure out why she was getting the fever. So she has been resting and building energy to continue on her journey and get stronger. We can’t wait for her to come home. We are thinking late August, early September for her to come back home o Colorado. A little update on my dad: he is staying strong. He is tired and wanting to come home. He gets bored at times as there isn’t much that he can do in Phoenix that doesn’t cost a lot. But he has been by mom’s side the whole time and is her rock! Thanks dad for being the amazing man you are! I traveled down to Phoenix this weekend to hang out and see how they are doing. I has been fun and it is good to see them. My time here will be too short. -Laura
