Kelley, born & raised in Keene, NH, divides her time between New Hampshire and Georgia. In July of 2006, the 20-year old woman in the prime of her life sustained catastrophic injuries in a tragic accident. Kelley Goddu was enjoying a summer off from Syracuse University when she broke her neck, shattering her C4 and C5 vertebrae, injuring her spinal cord and is now paralyzed. Her prognosis: a LONG recovery and rehabilitation. She has received inpatient treatment at the Shepherd Center (Atlanta). Kelley then continued the therapy route by pushing her limits in Beyond Therapy at the Shepherd Center. She currently is progressing at Journey Forward (Canton, Massachusetts).
Kelley has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive Catastrophic Injury Fund in part because HelpHOPELive provides both tax-deductibility and fiscal accountability to her contributors. Contributors can be sure that funds contributed will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses.

The daughter of Diane and Allen Goddu, sister of Kimberly and Danielle, Kelley has friends all over the country. All these things make Kelley who she is, but most importantly-she is a young woman faced with many challenges. This event has devastated Kelley, her family and friends. The recovery is financially overwhelming, costing $158,400 each year in out of pocket expenses for the family. Fundraising online should prove to be a success in many ways and help the entire Goddu family greatly.
Your help, financial or otherwise, will go toward:
· Medical and Therapy Costs (Journey Foward http://www.journey-forward.org/)
· Adaptive equipment
· Utilities
· Care costs for her service dog, Bettie
· And so, so much more…
Please help Kelley and her family through this step in her life.
If you would like to keep up with Kelley’s progress you can follow her blog: http://www.kelleyscause.blogspot.com/ or get in touch with her at [email protected].
Thank you for all your support.
