It was about 4 years ago my oldest daughter was expecting her 3rd child and my youngest daughter just gave birth to twins. It has always been my desire to support my children in anyway possible. Before I knew about my condition I was the babysitter of my oldest grandchildren at that time they were 4 and almost 1 year old while helping out with the twins. When it became time for my oldest to give birth to her 3rd child her 2nd child was about to be a year old and could not walk. He was cute and chunky. Needless to say I had to carry him around.
I live in a 2 story home so carrying him upstairs was a chore. I could not breathe. I could not lay down flat to sleep, nor could I walk to the end of my driveway because I was very short of breath. After a few weeks trying to deal with this I decided to go to the doctor for assistance. That is when I received devastating news of congestive heart failure. We tried treatment with medication, diet, and exercise.
After a year of treatment my doctor informed me that I was not getting better but worse and I was the perfect candidate for a heart transplant. At this point I was hospitalized, unfortunately this caused me to miss my daughter’s graduation, now in 2 years she is due to graduate college and my youngest child is graduating high school in 5 years, and my second child graduates in a year. It’s very important to me and my family that I be there at these events.
Before I became ill I was very active with children in schools and my church, which is now on hold while I am in treatment. I am very anxious to get back into the game and be more of an influence in my kids and grandchildren’s life. My ultimate goal is to reach each child in need of help to deter violent behavior in a non-profit organization called Klub K.A.B.
Your donations will help me to cover my out-of-pocket medical expenses well over $10,000. This is way too steep for me and I would really appreciate your help. We are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
We chose to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the GIVE button.
