Dear Friends and Family,

As many of you know, I have been battling end stage renal failure disease for the past several years. I have been on dialysis three times a week since February of 2012. Although I am doing fairly well on this treatment, it is very tiring. The doctor has allowed me to work two days a week, mainly to stay active. My only real shot at a long and healthy life is to receive a kidney transplant as soon as possible. I have been on the kidney transplant list at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston Texas for over a year. I am also in the process of getting listed at Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Due to the extraordinary expense of transplantation, as well as my inability to work as I had in the past, funding this life-saving operation is a monumental task. Despite having Medicare, many of my medical needs are not covered and must be paid out-of-pocket. I will need between $20,000 and $40,000 for his lifelong immunosuppressant medications and $5,000 before the doctors can start the transplant. Also, the expense of traveling to and from the center and then relocation costs at the time of transplant will be high. This presents a challenge I cannot meet alone.
