Happy Holidays to you all! I wish everyone a wonderful winter.
As many of you already know, I have recently had a major upheaval in my life. I had a bowel obstruction that burst and caused me to have my whole small intestine removed. I was hospitalized for nearly two months and underwent four surgeries to save my life. It was touch and go for a few weeks. The doctors told my family on numerous occasions that it was a miracle I survived. I am much recovered now. I know that I am only here by the grace of God and through all the prayers in my name. I probably will be out of work until the transplant can be performed and then at least two more months after the surgery itself. The surgery alone costs around $300,000. My insurance covers a lot of my medical expenses, but there are travel expenses back and forth to Washington DC, as well as lifelong medications after the transplant. We do not have the financial capability to do this on our own.
We have set up a fundraising campaign with Help Hope Live, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Midwest/West Small Bowel Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. To make I would be humbly grateful for any help that you could give. If you are unable to help financially, I would ask that you keep us in your prayers as we go through this next stage. And if you want to pass this information on to your churches or other organizations that might be able to help, I would be most grateful!

HI everyone! I am doing well, but still on track for the transplant. I am working now, while I wait. We will still have to be out of work for nearly 4 months while recovering in DC. We appreciate all your prayers and support
