Nick, a caring and devoted husband to my mother, worked swing shift as a steelworker for 40 years, consummately providing for his family, until retiring under advisement from his doctor. Throughout those many years, Nick has always maintained a sense of humor and high spirits, even while caring for my mother who has had continued health issues throughout her own life. Even through working shift work, overtime, holidays, and then coming home to help his wife and kids, he could still crack a joke, or otherwise bring a smile to our faces. His fun-loving and ever young attitude has helped him throughout his life, but now he approaches an arduous, and life-threatening struggle and he needs our help.
While Nick has health insurance, a kidney transplant can cost up to $330,000 and is only partially covered. This does not include post-operative treatment costs, medications, or the mounting cost of dialysis while awaiting a transplant. Weekly dialysis can cost up to $70,000 per year and is only partially covered. For a couple living modestly on pension and social security, the out of pocket costs are a substantial burden.
With your help, donations to Help Hope Live in honor of Nick can help ease the financial burden of dialysis, transplantation and medication costs and help my dad focus on his recovery. With our help, he can get back to laughing, learning caring…. And cracking a silly joke that you can’t help but smile to. To donate log on to helphopelive.org. Let’s get him living again!!!
Family and friends of Nicholas Klekot are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Nicholas has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Dear Mr. Klekot, I’ve known your son for a number of years and he is one of the most kind, considerate, and caring friends I’ve ever had. I can’t help but think he learned this from your example. Wishing you hope and healing as you embark on this journey.
