Our dear friend, Chris Helf, has 2 heart conditions that have come to a critical point. She is now in need of a heart transplant to survive. At 46 years of age she would like to live much longer to enjoy her sons and other family. We are asking family and friends to join us in fundraising with Help Hope Live to help with expenses that have begun to accumulate while she is waiting for the transplant.
Chris has always been a fighter. At the young age of 20 she lost the lower portion of her right leg to a fall that crushed both of her legs and was told she would never walk again. She has struggled to get back to being active to showing up with these diseases many years later which has slowed her down more than losing her leg. She has been extremely positive and has fought this longer than the doctors thought she could.
While Chris has health insurance, many expenses related to heart transplant are not covered. She will also have the monthly expense of over $5,000 for anti-rejection medications she will need to take for the rest of her life with the new heart.
Donations made to Help Hope Live will go directly to all the expenses and relieve Chris of the financial burden. This will enable Chris to focus on getting healthy and living a long life.
Thank you for your support.
Chris is now 8 months post-transplant. She is struggling with trying to swallow over 50 pills a day, but is pushing through. She is still a fighter. Her body is fighting to adjust as well to all the new meds, but has stopped fighting the heart with zero rejection as of today 5/29/2019. Thanks for all your prayers, support and donations, they are all greatly appreciated.
Chris received her new heart on 9/3/2018. She is having some issues with rejection, but is improving every day. She is now able to have conversations with her sons where before she only had the energy to listen. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. All donations are greatly appreciated as the need for multiple medications that have very high costs are taking a toll on her emotionally. Please consider even a small donation to help. We know she is too proud to ask for help, but she appreciates everything that is done on her behave. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks from Trevor & Christopher.
It's not much but I hope it helps :(
