I have a disease called FSGS which means the filters in my kidneys are clogging and I was on a very, very high dose of Prednisone and I really hated the side effects. I stopped the Prednisone cold turkey and never told anyone. Two weeks later I went to my cardiology appointment and they told me that I had to be admitted that day because I had end stage renal failure (ESRF).
While in the hospital I had to process a lot of new information all at once and it was scary beyond reason…. I had to think about starting dialysis, cutting back on fluid intake, changing my diet because of sodium, phosphorus, protein, etc. I had to think about end of life and do not resuscitate, if necessary.
I chose the route of dialysis and transplant. I’m having a good time at dialysis and I have my team and friends I’ve made there to thank for that!!!!!! I am currently in the middle of my work up for transplant and I believe I’m almost done. I just have a few things here and there to finish but I’m SO EXCITED to get my new kidney. Yes, sometimes I look like I just got hit by a bus. Dialysis drains me completely.
Dear Family and friends I’m raising money through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund medical expenses associated with my kidney transplant that are not covered by insurance.
I have chosen to use Help Hope Live because they assure fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, please click on the Give button.

I got my transplant on my brother’s 30th birthday. Sadly I ended up in the hospital again on Thursday after post op clinic because of fluid retention. Luckily, things are looking up and I’m gonna maybe go home in a few days.
My donor and I have both been approved and are done with testing except for the COVID-19 testing as a precaution. My surgery is scheduled for May 19th. I am so EXCITED!!!!!! I can’t wait!!!!!!!! Thank You to everyone who has stood by my family and I as I’ve gone through this long journey. I love and appreciate everyone!!!!!!!!
I'm currently waiting for my donor to get 2 more test done but he doesn't have any health insurance. I am also trying to raise money to help him with medical expenses for those tests. If I could get help raising money for him as well that'd be very much appreciated!!!!!!
