James, 48, has had congestive heart failure since he was 35. Recently he was hospitalized for 3 months because his heart failed. He was then put on a vertical assist device to keep him alive.
James needs our help to get a heart transplant to survive and thrive. He needs to raise funds in order to be placed on the transplant list.
James is looking forward to living his life again. James loves the outdoors and would like to get back to his job of working for the Florida Fish and Game.
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, there will be many uncovered transplant related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, doctor visits. When James receives his transplant, he will have to temporarily relocate to be near the transplant center as he recovers, incurring substantial expense for travel, food and lodging. In addition, James will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. These medications are as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.
Family and friends of James Sullivan are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
James has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
