I’ve been diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Myelofibrosis. This fatal disease disrupts the body’s normal production of blood cells, which results in extensive scarring in the bone marrow and destruction of the immune system. My only chance for survival is a stem cell transplant, which is slated for April, 2019. I am expected to be in the hospital for a month, followed by three months of 24-hour care while my new immune system grows. It’s uncertain what the timeframe will be before I can return to work.
Moving forward, I’m going to need a vast web of support on all levels to survive this journey. Most pressing at this time is to raise critical (and significant) funds for my treatment and recovery. Any amount is appreciated! I’d be so grateful if you’d share this campaign with your communities; it’s going to take a village.
