Family and friends of Abel Abraham are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Abel Abraham is an 12 year old boy who is in desperate need of a liver transplant. Abel was born with a rare genetic condition called PFIC 1 (Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis-type1). He also has severe growth failure, rickets, fat soluble vitamin deficiencies, and extreme fatigue. The only cure for his disease is a liver transplant. Currently Abel is listed at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. Abel has health insurance, but there are expenses that his insurance company does not cover. It is vital to Abel’s health that he fundraise for these out of pocket costs which include extensive travel and lodging from OKC to Houston, over the counter medications and supplements, co-pays, deductible, max out of pocket and other incidentals that arise after transplant. Because Abel has to travel out of state for a liver transplant, per his insurance, there is additional financial burdens placed on the family with time off work, additional children in the home, and support needed throughout this process. Donations to Help, Hope, Live will ease the financial burden of liver transplant and help the family focus on Abel’s health and life ahead.
