She went on dialysis the first of January 2017. She has been approved for a kidney transplant. Kay’s daughter, Wendy, has agreed to donate a kidney for Kay. However, Wendy is not a match, so she will trade a kidney for a match when they can find one.
Kay has good insurance to cover most of the medical costs of the transplant, but she will have to spend several weeks in SLC and will need to cover travel and lodging expenses. There will also be some of the anti-rejection drugs that will not be covered by her insurance.
Family and friends of Kay Henningson are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Kay has chosen to fund-raise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
