As many of you may already know I was diagnosed with end stage renal disease in 2015. After a lengthy hospital stay, I have been going to dialysis 3 times a week, 4 hours a day, to keep me alive.
On February 23 of this year I was blessed to receive a Kidney transplant from an anonymous donor through the UNOS Network at the University of Chicago.
The past 4 years have been a long and arduous journey to say the least. I am grateful for this gift that will allow me to continue living, and eager to get back to all the things I used to be capable of doing…even work. The estimated recovery time is around 6 months, without complications. Additionally, the out of pocket aftercare expenses, and medications that are required for the first year are costly and not all covered by insurance.
To ensure this life giving endeavor is successful, I, together with my family and friends have set up a fund raising page through Help Hope Live. Anything you can contribute will help, and be greatly appreciated. Donations made via Help Hope Live are tax deductible.
Asking friends and family to donate money is something that is very difficult for me. I am struggling in this position because I am usually on the other end of helping and giving to others. And when I am back on track, I promise to keep paying it forward, (I know many of you will hold me to that and I look forward to it).
Thank You all for your time, and consideration.
Patrick

I remember when you where born. Your dad wanted so bad to get home but the Marine Corps wouldn't let him go. To this day I have never seen him so pissed. He wanted to be there for you then but better yet is he is still there for you now. God bless you your mom and dad.
