I am currently recovering from transplant surgery and now realizing the great task ahead for me. I am a father of a daughter (Maya) and a son (Clifton III). I thank my creator (God) for allowing me the opportunity to live on and continue to be part of my family. One never knows how much one wants to live until faced with the choice to decide, “Never say never.”
I have been diabetic for over twenty-five years and because of my diabetes my kidneys were affected and subsequently failed. While I have health insurance, many transplant expenses are surprisingly not covered, such as monthly anti-rejection medications that I will need to take for the rest of my life.
