Since 2009, Keo has been battling heart disease and finally had surgery in 2011. A few years later, due to diabetes and high blood pressure, she contracted kidney failure. She has been going through dialysis for the last few years. She goes 3 times a week, 3-4 hours a day. For this reason she has’t been able to travel much or any distance away from home. Now she is asking if there is a matching donor. It would be a blessing and bless those that can help.
From Keo:
“I had escape from my home during war times during the Cambodian civil war. I escape with my only sibling and 1 cousin. Now both of them had already pass due to battling cancer. I am the last one within my family. I am the youngest and my older brother was a retired soldier. I became a US citizen in 1998. I raise my 5 children and now has grandchildren’s. I and my husband teaches our children our culture history from traditional music, dances, and ceremonies so my children can pass this value to their children and so forth. In turn it help the local Cambodian community to see their is still traditional history being taught.”
The donation will help to provide out of cost expenses for traveling and lodging to UCLA where I will be having the transplant. It is quite further from home. It will also help cover any out of pocket medication that is not covered by my insurance. This is also a requirement by the transplant director in order just to be place on the waiting list.
To those that can help in making any contribution to my fund campaign. It would be a great blessing that we live in a society where we can all help one another. Small or big we are connected to each other in spiritual sense. I thank you in return and give my blessing to good health, wealth, and prosperity.
Family and friends of Keo Yem are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Keo has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
