On February 28, 2019 Bryan went snowboarding near his home in Lake Tahoe, CA. Airborne off a wind lip, he boosted an ollie and floated. With not enough speed to clear the cat-track below, he landed on his back. Immediately Bryan couldn’t feel his legs. Too windy for a helicopter to land, ski patrol took Bryan down the mountain by sled, then a bumpy ride in a Ranger 4X4 followed by an ambulance ride to a trauma hospital in Reno, NV. He suffered an incomplete L1 spinal cord injury (paralysis from the waist down).

Two weeks later Bryan was transported by Learjet to Craig Rehab Hospital in Denver. At Craig, Bryan works diligently to regain function and mobility. He pushes the envelope every day surpassing expectations. He gets to use the Lokomat, a robotic locomotor to work on his walking muscles. He has regained some mobility and is optimistic with time and sweat more will come.
