I am currently 66 years old, living on Social Security, going forward with a double lung transplant. As of June 17th, 2019, I have been listed at Houston Methodist Hospital for a double lung transplant. Currently, my lungs are at less than 10% function. This all started in 1981 with bleeding lungs, which medical personnel could not diagnose the root cause. In 1982, I developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, which went away. Then, my body started attacking my lungs and my problems just were starting. By 1999, my lungs were full of fluid inside and out causing me not to be able to breathe in or out. This was a very critical and dicey time for me. The doctors tried diagnosing my lung problems as Wegeners, Lupus, COPD, and others. Even tried chemo for 90 days! Over the next 10 years, my problems increased with bleeding in and out of the lungs and I was notified of the eligibility for a lung transplant. Not long after, my niece was diagnosed with COPA disease, which was found as a mutant gene in our family. Our family is one of the very few to ever have this.
I have two brothers. One brother had a double lung and heart transplant in 2010 at the age of 52. He later passed away at 57. My other brother is currently 59 years old and is not far away from needing a transplant as well. In 2018, my granddaughter passed away from this disease at the age of 26 attacking her body in the form of Lupus. And that leaves my son, who also has complications and was even on the transplant list for a while, but thankfully his lungs are in better shape.
Because of the severity of my transplant, I am asking my friends and family for our prayers and any support you may be able to give. I have been asked “what do I need?” or “how can I help?”. So here is how you can help. We are having to temporarily relocate to Houston for the next 18-24 months, prescription medications, and garage parking fees, etc. My wishes would be this: in lieu of flowers, hospital gifts, or plants, I am asking that you help with our extra expenses. You can donate to Help Hope Live, a non-profit 501(c)3, which is tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Enclose the following information on your donation: Bobby G. Bolin, and my birth date, 01/24/1953. They can help us and many others.
God Bless and thank you so much for your help!

Good Evening Friends!
Today, December 12, 2019, Bob is in the hospital waiting for his new set of lungs. If you feel led to help with the hospital, food or transportation expenses, he and Fonda would be grateful for your help.
Hello friends and those whom have donated to our cause I am grateful. We are still in Houston awaiting the double lung transplant. We have since sold our house in Bandera now and will be moving from our RV to an apartment for now, but hope to return to Bandera when all is good and it fits God's plans as he is always in control, not us! Feeling ok and really enjoyed all the extreme heat this past summer and now the unusual cold, Haha, NOT!!!! God Bless you all and thanks for all your prayers and support. Please keep my wife, the donor person and family, as well as the Doctors as they are the ones working and suffering the most.
