Almost two years after winning my battle with breast cancer, I was ready to get back to my life. One night I had a severe shortness of breath. I was hospitalized and later told that I had Congestive Heart Failure.
I tried to adapt to this new condition, while trying my best to still take care of my parents. As time went on my condition worsened to include Pulmonary Hypertension, a heart/lung condition. I was then told that next would come a heart transplant, but at the time I was thought to be stable and it would be a while before this was to take place.
This year I was informed that my need for a heart transplant is closer than thought previously. With my brother, his wife and children helping to care for me, my mom and dad, I think I can face this new hurdle.
I threw an uncommon hurdle at my doctors who accepted it graciously. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I do not accept blood. This for some doctors would be a drawback, but my transplant hospital is wonderful to accept that challenge.
Family and friends of Ingrid Pulliam are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Ingrid has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
I am saddened to let my supporters know that I lost my mom to one of the dreaded diseases that I suffer from, Pulmonary Hypertension, a heart lung condition that reek havoc with the entire body. She was my rock and my cheerleader. As I type this I hope that most people will see this and be able to donate to a company that is helping me fight my heart diseases. Congestive heart failure is tough enough to deal with, but with other things that compound it leading to heart transplant.
