Leonida Peña, our young 58-year-old mother and her grandchildren’s “Tita”, has just received a double lung transplant. The financial expenses for our family have started and are quickly adding up. We are asking for your help.
She has never smoked a day in her life and has just received her desperately needed transplant to live. Her transplant was performed by the renowned University of Florida Shands Transplant Center in Gainesville, FL

December 7th will be Lee's 4 month post transplant anniversary. She has had her share of hurtles, but is making tremendous progress! Your continued support has helped her focus on her recovery and not on the financial obligations associated with her recovery.

Mom has been released from the hospital and is in an apartment for the next 3-4 months while her amazing team monitors her progress. Her progress is fantastic! In rehab, she is pressing almost 100 lbs. on the leg press, walking on the treadmill for almost a full 30 minutes, and it has only been 6 WEEKS!! We are continuing to ask for your financial help and support. These funds are help Lee focus on her recovery and not the expenses of her recovery.
