Karen was a senior in college when she was involved in a motor vehicle accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Although she was able to complete her degree program, she struggled because the effects of the TBI exacerbated her post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This also made it difficult to maintain employment after college. Additionally, she began experiencing low blood sugars associated with hypoglycemia.
Karen has obtained a golden doodle, Ruby, and after completing the process of training her as a service dog to alert her to dropping blood sugars and to assist with the continuing symptoms of TBI and PTSD. Training for blood sugar alerts, in particular, is a complicated process and Karen is excited to have the opportunity to work with professional service dog trainers to complete Ruby’s training. Unfortunately, this training is not financially feasible for Karen, so she is requesting assistance to cover the fees. Ruby has already been a blessing to Karen, helping her to be more confident in her home and community. Continuing the upkeep of training will allow Ruby to provide consistent support to Karen and continue to improve her quality of life.
Ruby and Karen would greatly appreciate any financial help that can be afforded to have Ruby professionally trained through a quality training facility.

Ruby had been trained for detecting blood sugar only but has also been able to detect high blood pressure and has waken her owner to care for a needed situation alert. This has been possible with the help of donations to assist with her earlier training. Karen would appreciate help in continuing the upkeep of such training.
Due to Covid, Ruby's national certification training hit a standstill. Ruby is certified under ADA. Karen is actively pursing the national certification training but needs your help. Please donate. Every single donation matters.
Ruby had a training on July 15th we had another training and we know how to hone in on training for sucess in holding that knowledge for duration of skills.
Ruby had her first in person training since Covid 19 on June 12 and two virtual ones prior to this training. The in person is a lot better than over the internet. Ruby will need a hip x-ray because I can't get history from breeder on generational records as well as future training cost. Thank you for your support.
The first of April 2020 we had our first experience in virtual training lesson with Compass Key trainer. It was a little challenging trying to focus on ruby to show what we were doing on our side. But we will be working on what was taught for our next lesson hopefully in person this time due to covid19 issue. But we still need some help with funds please donate to help us. This was our first training due to circumstances that prevented us from starting in January.
Ruby is scheduled for her first individual training session on Jan 17, 2020. As we have finalized all paperwork requirements the first lesson is 135 of which donations from the fundraiser will offset the cost to help me afford the trainings for Ruby. Thanks for your support.
