Our mother Donna, the Grandmother to our children needs your help with obaining her dream of a double lung transplant. Twelve years ago she was diagnosed with severe COPD, a lung disease that results in chronic destruction of lung airflow that interferes with everyday normal breathing. Shes been depending on oxygen 24/7 ever since she was diagnosed with this disease. Her condition has deteritoetard significantly over the past few years with more frequent hospitalizations for breathing, pneumonia, and retaining CO2.
In this moment of her life we decided to undergo months of testing to qualify for a double lung transplant that will improve the quality of her life. Shes tries so hard to keep up with every day life, and it’s difficult to watch her struggle with what may be considered simple, every day tasks. There is so much pain, and sadness behind not being able to play, and keep up with her nine grandchildren. Our famiy is so hopeful that with this lung transplant our mom, our childrens’ grandmother can not only live a long life, but also enjoy living! We are kindly asking for help with the frequent trips back and forth to appointments (most stationed out of Boston), medical expenses, medications, and any aftercare needs. We are so grateful to have this opportunity, and any donations are greatly appreciated.
Family and friends of Donna Bettro are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Donna has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
I want to thank you all for your generous donations. It is very much appreciated and will be forever grateful. Your kindness truly is heartwarming.
The money raised will help in paying for our trips back and forth to Boston
( which is getting costly ),any tests and life long medications the insurance won’t cover and other unexpected costs.
My daughter has taken many days off of work w/o pay so she could be with me and be my caregiver and never complained once. I have been so blessed.
A couple more visits and in early January we should know if they’ll put me on the transplant list.
We will keep you updated on my progress and pray it’ll be good news.
Thank you again for your generosity and let’s keep this going. Xo
