A CHILDHOOD STOPPED IN ITS TRACKS — ADULTHOOD ACHIEVED BUT HELP NEEDED

1997 should have been a typical year in the Baer family, their son Richard “Ricky” was 11 and enjoying the usual things of a pre-teen boy, football and little league topping the list. Ricky was a happy active young man and even though he was born deaf it did not stop him from enjoying a full life. An diagnosis of Transverse myelitis spectrum disorder did that. Ricky’s Transverse myelitis can be caused by the Tetanus shot. In short, TM is a neurological condition that affects the spinal cord, damaging nerves and can lead to paralysis. That is what happened with Ricky. At the age of 33, Ricky has been dealing with this disease for more than 20 years. He is wheelchair bound and needs your help.
