Hi friends and family. As some of you may remember, in March of 2015, Jerry’s heart mysteriously stopped beating while he was at work. Luckily a staff of safety personnel were able to revive him and he recovered. Since that day, he has been living with an internal pacemaker/defibrillator or ICD. For reasons unknown, his heart over the past couple years has continued to sporadically act up and his ICD has had to get his heart beating again.

Jerry and his wife Shelly moved to the Phoenix area back in February of 2017. Jerry has been able to work part time, but has recently had some more serious issues with his heart. Last week after his doctors exhausted everything they thought could help his heart condition he was transferred to the care of Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.

November 4, 2019

We have had a few people reaching out asking for updates. Jerry had a bit of a set back this week. On Tuesday they reinstalled the ventilator due to pneumonia. He responded well after a few days so the vent was removed again today. His new heart is still trying to figure things out but continues to improve.

We know Jerry has a large network of friends and family thinking about him. Please understand that he is still very sick. Updates may be slow to come because the recovery is very slow. Sometimes a good day is when nothing happens at all. Our time and energy is being spent on being there for Jerry right now so updates may lag. We’ll definitely try to let you all know how things are going. Thanks so much for thinking of us. We let Jerry know daily that he has quite the following that is rooting for him.
