Heath was born with “Transposition of the Great Vessels”. He struggled for 43 years just trying to live a normal life. He suffered with open heart surgery as a baby, congestive heart failure, 2 strokes, a heart attack, kidney problems and then a heart transplant. Ongoing medications and traveling 250 miles for his doctor appointments are some of the expenses that Heath has.
Heath raised his son as a single parent. He loves children and sports. He volunteered many hours to his community by coaching Peewee Football, Basketball, and Soccer. All while taking many prescriptions and having a pacemaker/defibrillator to assist in keeping his body stable and his heart failure under control.
Now he is in need, to pay for dental work that Medicare does not cover. The lack of good oxygen flow in his body created decay in his teeth and before his transplant could be performed, eleven of his teeth had to be removed. Since then, more teeth needed to be removed in order to keep him healthy. His dental work cost is $5500.
For the first time in his life, Heath is now blessed with a healthy heart. His family and he are now needing to fundraise for his dental work to aid in his recovery. Family and friends of Heath Erwin are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Heath has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
Heath continues to thrive. He is taking cautious measures in this unpredictable times that we are living in. Heath will be on immunosuppressants for his entire life. This makes him more vulnerable to Covid-19. He had to cancel his monthly Pentamadine breathing treatment in Abilene. His doctors want him to stay home and be safe from germs. Hopefully everything will be settled down by June. That is when his 3 year appointment will be in Dallas, with lots of major testing to be done. Thank you to those of you who have shown support to Heath. We appreciate you and your prayers.
Heath continues to do well. His most recent checkup and tests in Dallas were good.
Every month he drives to Abilene for a breathing treatment. This is to strengthen his immune system so that his body is able to fight off germs. He will return to Dallas in February for more tests.
Thank you so much to those who have supported Heath. You are truly appreciated.
