Jeff was diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last year and traveled to Cancer Treatment Center of America for chemotherapy. He battled this disease and is now in remission. Jeff returned to work for almost eight months, then he became ill and ended up in the emergency room in March.
Jeff stayed in the hospital for a week, where they ran multiple tests and even had to do a blood transfusion due to low blood cell counts (white and red). After he was well enough to leave the hospital, we were referred to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. There they diagnosed him with a new disease- Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). The only cure for this is a Complete Bone Marrow Stem Cell transplant.
Jeff has always been the type of person to go out of his way to help others no matter what time or whatever the issue might be (car issues, plumbing issues etc.) Now he is the one in need of help, he has a hard time asking for help, but he is definitely in need now.
The donations will help us keep our current home by helping us pay our mortgage for 3 months after the transplant, as well as pay for the temporary housing in Seattle when he does his bone marrow transplant. He is required to be close to SCCA in case he gets GVHD (graft versus host disease). I, Candace (spouse/caregiver), will have to travel back and forth between Seattle and Orting to check up on our kids and home. Funds raised can help us to keep our car maintained to access treatment and pay for travel to and from appointments. There will also be dental bills that are required to prevent infection. Any kind of infection could be life threatening.
Jeff has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
Well its day +8 still in the hospital and he his holding up, very tired but thats to be expected with his blood counts.
Jeff is getting his new cells today!!!
We move to the UW medical center today. They will begin chemo tomorrow, then on the 5th they give him the transplant. If all goes well before xmas we move to our third home away from home, and we stay there till about March.
The food here in Seattle is ridiculous over priced 15$ for a hamburger meal i miss home and my kitchen, i miss my kiddos.
We saw our oncologist today signed all the consent forms. Chemo is scheduled to start on Thanksgiving day, transplant is scheduled Dec 5th
Well good news my spinal tap was clear of the MDS so my body has no MDS and im ready to start the transplant still waiting on the results for the last bone marrow biopsy but all looks good so far
Thank you for all your support it’s greatly appreciated god bless you all
We are getting ready to start the next stage of our journey, we will be leaving to go to Seattle for a little over four months, our children will be left to care for our home that we are trying to save. We are trying to focus on healing and not being scared of the unknown and stressed out.
We still need the support of our family, friends and the kindness of strangers.
