The tragedy has left me paralyzed from the waist down. I was 26 years old at the time of my injury. At that time my son was 9 years old, I was in nursing school & working a full time job. After 13 surgeries I was able to sustain my health & I had finally come into acceptance with my disability.
In 2018, I re-enrolled back into nursing school & was accepted into the program. God has really blessed me to continue to push, strive, & he gave me the wisdom to never give up on myself, nor my hopes & dreams.
Financially, it’s been a struggle because of everyday life, bills, & I’m not working currently. I do need help but the biggest hurdle is getting the funding I need for a wheelchair accessible van, they’re very expensive. The good news is Vocational Rehab will pay for the modifications on the vehicle after I purchase the van. I’m asking for your help financially. I need reliable transportation & outside of doctors appointments, rehab, grocery runs, etc. it’s hard not having a vehicle that is accessible to my disability.
