Even though Camila has had multiple hospitalizations, doctors appointments, labs, suffering pain, high blood pressures, migraine, etc., it has not stop her from working and making good grades and passing all her classes. She’s determined to continue to live and enjoy life.
Since her condition is an autoimmune disease, her condition needs to be under control before transplant if not, the immune system will attack the new kidney. Thankfully, her disease became under control and she was given the green light to be on the transplant list. She is getting close to that step but there are transplant expenses that some are not covered even with insurance. She will need to take anti-rejection medications for the rest of her life and we’ve been told to anticipate upwards of $5,000 a month just for these medications alone. Because of this, I’m asking to please help us ease the financial burden of a transplant and allow us to focus on a healthy recovery and a long life ahead with Camila.
Our family and friends of are raising money in honor of Camila Mangual for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
We have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the GIVE button. And please share her page on your social media.

Thank you for your support!
It’s been four years since transplant. Overall, it’s been a good journey. Camila was able to start high school. It was a hard adjustment period but now she’s in her senior year doing dual enrollment working towards her goal of graduating and getting a medical assistant certification. God willing she will continue to study and work in the medical field. Unfortunately, she has hit a little bump on the road with her health. She’s got antibodies that are menacing her kidney. She’s undergoing an infusion treatment for the next six months. We’re hopeful that the treatment works and she gets back in track and continue to enjoy her h.s. senior year! ?
