On November 24, 2019 Terell was sledding with his brothers when he lost control and slid off the trail. He landed on a large boulder breaking his C5, T5 & T6 vertebrae. He was flown by LifeFlight to a Regional Hospital where he went through several surgeries to repair his broken bones. As a result of the accident Terell is diagnosed with a complete C5 spinal cord injury (paralyzed from the chest down). After weeks in ICU and inpatient rehab, Terell has started experiencing some improvement in regaining strength and mobility in his upper body. Terell’s long term prognosis remains uncertain.
Terell has always been one to seek out those kids who needed a friend, those that have been bullied, and those who have special needs. He has always been the one to connect with little kids, he loves to play with all of his little cousins and make them feel important. Terell is there favorite!
Terell loves being in the outdoors and spending time with family. He had a toy drive where he collected hundreds of toys for Primary Children’s Hospital for his Eagle Scout project. He is always willing to take the time to serve others and help the elderly with their needs. Terell is eager to complete his recovery so that he can get back to doing what he loves!
Throughout Terell’s recovery he has taken on each new day with a smile and a humble heart, learning new ways to live life that was once taken for granted, and accepting what he still has and making the most of it. All along the way he has been inspiring hundreds of people all around the world with his contagious smile and optimistic outlook.
As you can imagine, Terell’s medical, rehab and long term recovery costs are extreme. Even with insurance we are facing many out of pocket expenses including home and vehicle modifications to accommodate Terell’s new needs, long term outpatient rehabilitation, full time health care, and medical supplies and equipment needed for the remainder of his life. As Terell is able to regain his strength and mobility his hope is to be able to pay it forward to others in his situation.
Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden we are facing as a family and give Terell the brightest opportunity to continue to live life to the fullest, so he can continue to help others as he has always done and to be able to continue to inspire people to not take life for granted and to always pay it forward to those in need.
Family and friends of Terell Jensen are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Injury.

2021 has been a year for new opportunities and growth. Terell has been doing out patient therapy this year and has been getting stronger. This last week marked 2 years since his accident and its amazing to see how far he has come. With a new year ahead of him, its going to be exciting to see what the future holds and what new opportunities will be discovered. We want to thank all those that have and continue to support Terell, there has been countless blessing from all those around us supporting in numerous ways. We want to say Thanks!
As we come to the end of this amazing year, as many people are exited to see this year come to an end. We have come extremely grateful for all the many miracles and blessings we have seen in Terell's recovery. Terell has completed all of the available at home therapy that insurance allows. We have been blessed with some amazing therapist that have become part of our family as they have challenged and helped Terell in regaining strength and mobility. Some of the things that Terell is able to do on his own as a result of this therapy includes being able to brush his teeth, feed himself, able to lift heavier weights, sitting up with out being propped up, roll over in his bed and many more things. Things that we often take for granted and don't even thing about until those capabilities are no longer there. Thanks to all those that have supported Terell over the past year, we are extremely grateful for all you have done for Terell and our family.
