She has a condition called Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is usually caused at birth because of lack of oxygen to the brain. It causes the signals in your brain to not communicate correctly with the rest of your body. It affects all four of Tiffany’s extremities, especially her right side causing her muscles to have spasms, and be in a constant state of spatisity.
Over the course of her life Tiffany has gone through different therapies including speech, occupational and physical therapy. She has undergone 14 surgeries to help her go from a wheelchair to walking with her walker. Many of her surgeries had to be repeated to keep correcting deformities caused by the spatisity in her legs. Cerebral palsy also causes balance and motor skills problems for Tiffany making every day tasks twice as hard. Tiffany has worked very hard to overcome her obstacles that many said wouldn’t happen.
She was never suppose to walk, talk, or live independently. She proved the doctors wrong and lives independently with her teen daughter.
This condition also causes Tiffany’s body to age 5x faster than an able body person. Cerebral Palsy has started to now affect Tiffany in ways that are unimaginable. Tiffany has been restricted to her bed not able to walk at all. She can only sit in her wheelchair for 2 hours a day.
Since March of 2019 the spatisity in her muscles have been pulling on her hip to become extremely twisted and out of the socket causing constant chronic pain everyday. Tiffany is now going to be in a powerchair permanently. She has undergone intense physical and occupational therapy and botox injections to try to correct and reverse the effects of the spastisity and abnormality. Tiffany will now be having Hip Surgery to put her hip back into the correct position to try to help alleviate her chronic pain. She is in great need of a Handicap Accessible Van that she will be able to drive from her powerchair that will make it possible for her to leave the house and gain some of her independence back. Making it easier to go to doctors appointments, therapy and get the treatments she needs in order to live a better quality of life.
Tiffany loves the Lord and has been a continuous light during this trying time to all who know her. No amount is to big or to small. Any amount will help. Please pray for Tiffany and her daughter and ask the Lord how He would like you to help.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to send you an update on everything going on there has been a lot since my last post. My infection came back 2 weeks ago which was which was I think around September 23, 2021. My infectious disease doctor says my hip implant is infected and the only option is to take it out and to put a new one in. He said he can give me antibiotics for an entire year and it will just keep coming back.
I called my surgeons office and told them as well and they said to get back on antibiotics and to schedule my MRI. My MRI was scheduled for yesterday but the hospital closets to me didn’t have the right MRI machine to be able to see anything on it. My MRI got rescheduled for today and a different location.
I did the MRI test today and had to go for my IV Infusion it took the whole entire day and Im in so much extreme pain.
Yes I’m back on IV antibiotics every day including weekends until we have a plain moving forward. My infectious disease doctor and my cardiologist say my hip implant is infected. It’s just aweful!
I had to go see my cardiologist because my blood pressure has been extremely high. He put me on a higher dose of my blood pressure medicine plus a diaretic and a potassium pill. My blood pressure seems to be a lot better now. I will follow up with him in about 6 weeks.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and gifts with out you I wouldn’t be able to get through this.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you an Update. I went to my surgeons office on Friday September 3, 2021 for a follow up appointment for the hip aspiration.
I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see my surgeon. He had an emergency surgery he had to leave for. I saw his physician assistant. She was very nice. She said she new about my case and that she had been updated from both surgeons who operated on me. The surgeon wants to keep me off of my antibiotics for a while. She said for now we are just going to wait to see what this infection is going to do. When it comes back I have orders to go get an MRI and I will follow up with them at that point. The good news is my hip replacement itself is not infected praise the Lord. We also decided that the Picc Line will stay in for another month in case I need more antibiotics. I’m so thankful for this as needles are extremely traumatizing for me.
Thank you to everyone so much for continuing to pray, who continue to be here in the trenches with me and who have donated for this handicap accessible van that I desperately need.
Sending you all my Love!!
My Journey to Independence!!
Hi everyone,
I went to Memorial Hermann Houston Orthopedic and Spine Hospital today to get my hip aspiration done. My dad came to get me at 3 am we went to the Emergency room at that hospital and got to park in the ambulance section. A man came walking out with full gear on to give me my Covid test. We sat in the car for 25 mins until he came back and said my Covid test was negative. From there we went around the corner and I was met by that same man and a nurse. They got me out of the car and put me in a wheelchair. I said good bye to my dad and he said “ see ya later” we couldn’t get Clearance for him to come in. They wheeled me to the surgery center and I recognized the greeter from last time I think she a nurse. I signed my documents and then waited to go upstairs. Y’all it was just like having surgery, I went upstairs they got me hooked up to the machines and bonus points they did an X-ray and were allowed to use my picc line so no Needles for me. Praising God for that he made that happen. A lot of the nurses remembered me from my Hip Replacement and osteotomy surgery Nov 12, 2020. I went into the operating room and they put me on this little table and attached arms and introduced the other medical staff to me. That was quite comforting. The anesthesiologist put a mask on me and told me to breathe it in that I was going to go to sleep. Another nurse put some medicine in my picc line. I closed my eyes and went to sleep. This was the first time I ever had an outpatient procedure/surgery done like this. I have been sleeping since I got home. Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for me this morning. Everything seemed to go well. My doctor said there wasn’t as much infection in there as he thought. He sent the test off. I will follow up with him in two weeks. For now I’m still not supposed to take any antibiotics. Please continue to keep me in your prayers.

A new update: I saw the new hip surgeon Last Tuesday. He assisted in my surgery back in November. Dr Rodrigez and also his assistant Dr Moody. Dr Rodrigez said he doesn't think my hip replacement is infected. but he needs to make sure and because the infection is sitting on top of my hip. They have to becareful about where they stick the needle because they don't want the infection to get pushed down further into my hip. Dr Rodrigez wants to do it himself in the OR as outpatient and he is going to put me to sleep for the procedure I will be having this hip aspiration done tomorrow morning Monday August 16,2021 . I have to be at the hospital in Bellaire at 4:15am. It’ s just like getting ready for surgery so no eating after midnight the night before and I have to shower with the surgery soap. I also have been off my antibiotics for the last 6 days, so the antibiotics don’t cloud the test. Then another follow up.
Please pray for my procedure to go smoothly and for no infection below the skins surface. I’m so happy that my dad will be there with me.

Hi everyone here’s an update I went to my appointment with my surgeon yesterday . I told him what was going on with my infection and he wants to make sure that there is no infection on the metal itself and the only way to do that is through a hip aspiration. I am 100% not looking forward to this. Please be praying for no infection deeper than a skin infection because the only way to get it out is to do another surgery. I’ve been on Iv antibiotics for 8 weeks it is getting a lot better I think we are towards the end. I also found out that my surgeon is moving which makes me very sad. He is sending me to the hip replacement specialist that assisted him on my hip replacement surgery so there is comfort in knowing this isn’t a completely new doctor and he has worked on my body. I see him in August. I saw my infectious Disease Doctor today we are continuing with IV antibiotics but moving to 3 days a week instead of every day. So that’s good news. Thank you so much for all of your love and prayers as I continue this journey!!

Hi everyone,
I saw my infection doctor today. Praise God my catscan came back with good results. My hip replacement looks great. There is still infection around the hip replacement but not on it. So no surgery is needed. My hip infection is healing another week of Iv antibiotics probably 2 weeks is my guess he always says another week. Thank you to everyone who has continued to pray and who have given for my handicap accessible van. This couldn’t be done with out any of you. There are no words to express how grateful I am.

Hi everyone I just wanted to give you an update. I have been fighting a hip infection for 7 weeks. 3 weeks of oral antibiotics and 4 weeks of IV antibiotics. Every day I get to go to the infusion clinic even on the weekends. I am now on two IV antibiotics that seem to be working. I also got a picc line today so I won’t have to keep getting new IV’s and poked for blood draws every week which is awesome. I also had a ct scan done on Friday to see if my hip replacement itself is infected. I will find out the results on Thursday this week. Please continue pray that this infection will continue to heal so I can get back to continuing my rehabilitation. I really want to get my life back. This journey has been extremely hard.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you a quick update. I went to my infection doctor today for a follow up. I will be continuing on IV antibiotics for another 7 days. This was a deep infection in my hip but it is getting better. Please continue to pray this infection has been very hard to get rid of.

Hi everyone,
6 month update since my hip replacement and osteotomy surgery.
A lot has been happening in the last few weeks. This is my last week in Occupational Therapy at Tirr. I have been able to reach some goals. I can get my clothes on and off by myself now but not my socks and shoes and I’ve made a lot of progress being able to stand up, pivot and sit down in my wheelchair and on a commode in my bathroom. I can also get myself in bed and in my powerchair. It all takes ALOT of time but I can do it. Over time it will get easier and a little faster.
I have been fighting an infection in my hip for 3 weeks. I have been on oral antibiotics. Saturday night I noticed my infection getting worse. Today I went in for my follow up and my infection doctor decided to put me on IV Antibiotics for 9 days. My daughter will be taking me to his office every day to get the infusion. Please pray for us. Please pray that these antibiotics work and will kill this infection. Please pray my IV will stay in my arm I don’t want to get re stuck again and again it hurts. Thank you all so much for all the love prayers and support already given.

Hi everyone,
Today was a huge milestone in Occupational Therapy. Guess what I did for the first time since surgery. I sat on a regular commode by myself. This involves shifting my weight and pivoting from my wheelchair to the commode and getting up and going back to my wheelchair. It was slow and hard and I definitely need more practice but I DID IT !!! Yaaaaaaaay. I’m extremely sore because I had therapy yesterday too but today was an awesome day!!

Goodmorning everyone,
I just wanted to give you a quick update from my doctors appointment yesterday. I had an appointment with my Infectious Disease doctor. I have had reoccurring cellulitis in my leg in the past so I started seeing him a few years ago. I didn’t get good news. He said he thinks my hip replacement might be infected but he doesn’t know for sure. He took 5 tubes of blood to run tests and he put me on doxycycline an antibiotic for 30 days. I will go back and see him in 2 weeks. Please pray that these antibiotics work and we don’t have to do anything else.

Hi everyone,
I have some news to share I’ve been in Occupational Therapy now for about 6 weeks. My therapy has continued to focus on bed mobility and standing in order to help with dressing and pivoting to be able to sit on a chair, commode and hopefully a shower chair soon. We have worked on core exercises and rolling from side to side on a bed. A lot of the same things that I have worked on in physical therapy. We have made me a new cast for my arm to keep it in a more neutral position during the day. I also have leg loops that help me move my legs when I’m getting in bed and out of bed. It’s been a lot of work but this last week I was finally able to pivot from the bed to a chair putting most of my weight through my arms and leaning forward on my walker and using most of the weight on my left leg and about 20% weight on my right leg. It hurts and it’s extremely difficult to move but we are finally getting somewhere. It’s been a very long 5 months since my hip replacement and osteotomy surgery. I will continue in Occupational Therapy until May 28th and hopefully I will be a little more Mobil in my powerchair and being able to do a little more things on my own by then.
I also met with a new pain management doctor today. He was very helpful and seemed to understand about needing to work with him and he seems very eager to help me get back to living my life independently. I’m glad he is now my doctor.
I have an infection the came back in my leg. I will be seeing my infectious disease doctor tomorrow. I have had reoccurring cellulitis in my past and this infection about a month ago so hopefully he will just give me antibiotics and it will clear up.
Thank you for all your love and prayers!!

Hi everyone,
I am still in Occupational Therapy and I have made some more progress we are working on being able to dress myself. More specifically putting on pants and pulling them up. Doing this lying down in my bed has been pretty difficult for me. My Occupational Therapist has decided to see if standing and pulling up my pants would be easier because that’s how I did it before my surgery. I just wouldn’t put any weight on my right leg. So we have been working on standing and putting weight on my right leg. Only as much as I can tolerate. Today I had to try to shift my weight so I could transfer from the bed to my wheelchair and it was extremely hard. I was putting most of my weight through my arms and my left leg and about 20% weight on my right leg. It was painful and exhausting. I still cannot step back that requires putting more weight on my right leg. I am getting stronger though today was the first day I was able to pivot with my walker so I was super excited and proud of myself today. I am in a lot of pain tonight but I’m happy that I’m seeing more improvements. I also sat in my powerchair for 3 hours last night which is longer than I have been able to sit in it for the past 2 years. I had to adjust my powerchair chair a few times but it was a big accomplishment.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far to my accessible van fundraiser!
Thank you so much to everyone who continues to pray and continues to help Layla and I during this trial.

Hi everyone,
I have a lot of news I went to my 4 month follow up with my surgeon on March 17, 2021 He is very pleased with how my bone is healing, I expressed my frustration with my recovery being so slow. He said because I can’t get full range of motion in my legs I can’t rehab like others so my recovery will take longer and is a lot of work . He also reminded my father and I that this surgery was performed so I could sit more comfortably in my powerchair and to reduce pain. That seems to be moving forward so that’s a WIN.
My pain has been reduced it went from being a 10 almost every night to being between a 4-6 and on therapy days sometimes an 8. I’m praying over time it will go down even more.
Physical therapy has been focused on transfers to and from wheelchair and bed mobility. Rolling over on both my left and right side and strengthening my legs and Core. Stretching seems to be the most important right now. I will end physical therapy this Friday. Occupational therapy is continuing we are working on strengthening my upper body stretching my right arm and shoulder, transfers and dressing.
I want to say thank you so much for everyone’s continued love and support. I could never get through this with out you. March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month
Thank you so for making this month the best month yet in fundraising for my van. I am completely grateful to all of you!!

Hi Everyone,
I started physical therapy a couple of weeks ago and as everyone heard we had a winter storm. Oh my goodness the snow was so beautiful. Thankfully my apartment was ok no flooding in our unit praise Jesus but, we did have some tiles that came off into the shower. I didn’t know until my care Attendent told me today. I’ll call maintenance tomorrow and they will fix it. I have been doing my exercises in between therapy and today. My care attendant and I were getting me back in bed and she usually has to help me move my leg over but......I MOVED IT ALL BY MYSELF.... yaaaaaaay we were so Excited Praise Jesus it was just a little move but it was a HUGE Accomplishment. I lost all of my mobility after my surgery. I’m so happy.
Therapy has been really hard. I’m usually in pain for two days afterwards. I have only had two sessions because of the winter storm. I go Tuesdays and Fridays. Right now we are still working on shifting my weight over to my right side by sitting and doing core exercises concentrating on my right side. My therapist says we don’t have to do big exercises, we can do small exercises to achieve what we want. I have not taken any steps yet. I will have my Occupational Therapy Evaluation on February 27, 2021
I want to say thank you so much to everyone who has continued to be in this with me and supported us.
I love every one so much and I am so thankful for you.

Hi everyone,
Last week on Wednesday I took my powerchair outside with my physical therapist. We went all around my apartment complex. Even though the bumps from the concrete hurt my hip, it was a lot of fun and it felt so good to get out of my apartment for a while. We tried to also take a step that day and it just didn’t happen. I am having trouble loading all of my weight on to my right side in order to take a step. I was discharged from therapy on Thursday and from Home Health Care Services. I will miss them My physical therapist and occupational therapist did all that they could do. It is time to move into outpatient rehab.
I was evaluated today for Physical Therapy at Tirr. My physical therapist is going to be the same one that I started with in the beginning of this journey. She will work me hard. I am up for the challenge though. She measured my hip laying down and sitting up and checking my reflexes and strength in both my legs. She said both my legs have a lot of tone in them from my CP but we could possibly use that as an advantage in my recovery. I’m just going to go with it and trust her. My physical therapy will be 8 weeks 2 days per week. I will have my Occupational Therapy Evaluation on February 27, 2021.
Thank you so much to everyone for your continued love prayers and support.

It’s been 2 months Since my surgery.
I saw my Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Doctor on Tuesday January 12, 2021 and I will probably stop doing home healthcare therapy services at the end of January. She thinks I might be ready for out patient therapy at Tirr starting in February. Tirr specializes in patients with brain injury and Cerebral Palsy they have equipment and trained therapist that can take me to the next level to help me further my recovery so that is AWESOME.
I also saw my orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday January 13,2021 He is very happy with the progress that I have made in my recovery so far. He said I will see more improvements over the course of a year. I will go back and see him in 2 months.
My progress has been very slow but there are improvements every day. My transfers have improved I can now sit in my wheelchair for an hour and a half. I have been able to start getting in my powerchair now and we are working on sitting up straighter, and standing and shifting my weight over to my right side. We also have been working on trying to take a step by sliding my foot forward and backwards.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been with me throughout this journey praying with me God is so good and is with me in every step that I take. Please continue to pray with me because the Bible says in Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
I love all of you so much and thank everyone who has continued to be in the trenches with Layla and I as I continue

Merry Christmas Everyone,
Home Healthcare physical and occupational therapy have been going ok. It’s been a very slow process, however I am making progress strengthening both my right and left leg. We have been working on exercises for range of motion for my right leg like knee bends and moving my ankle up and down, working on leg extensions from side to side. We have also been working on transfers in an out of my wheelchair a and the bedside commode.. length of time spent in my wheelchair is becoming longer as well. I can stay In my wheelchair for a little over an hour now. Standing and shifting my weight from side to side is something we have been working on too . Everything little bit counts and is going to lead to bigger accomplishments. Thankyou to everyone who have donated and sent prayers. I couldn’t get through this with out you.

I started Home Healthcare Physical Therapy this morning and it was absolutely HARD. My therapist seems nice but man he worked me out so hard I have been sleeping on and off all day and my leg and hip have been throbbing. We worked on bed excercizes and transferring on and off the potty and rocking back n forth to put more weight through my right hip. Not easy at all. I spent the rest of the day sleeping on and off. Tomorrow is a new day.
I will see him again on Friday.
Sending all my love to all of you!

Hi everyone I got home late yesterday afternoon December 1, 2020 from the inpatient rehab hospital. The nurses and doctor which is my doctor in real life were all absolutely wonderful.and the physical therapist and occupational therapist were amazing and I can’t wait to go back and thank them all when I get better. I loved everyone at Tirr Memorial Hermann inpatient Rehab Hospital. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Hi everyone I had my hip replacement and osteotomy surgery on Nov 12, 2020 everything went well they did the hip replacement with an osteotomy “ cutting of my bone “ and did lacerations of my muscles to help my hip fall into place.
The healing process has begun I was in the hospital for 6 days then sent to inpatient rehab on weds nov. 18 and I have been here at Tirr in the woodlands Tx ever since. I have had 3 hrs of therapy every day. Both occupational and physical therapy. I have learned to sit up on the side of my bed and learned how to transfer from my bed to my wheelchair and onto a bedside potty chair as well. I have also learned how to take a few steps with a sliding shoe it hurts like you wouldn’t believe unless you have been through it. I have muscle spasms in both my right leg and my left leg and sharp pains and throbbing pains ect. But two weeks ago I couldn’t even sit up. I will be in inpatient rehab until December 1,2020 then I will go home on home health care with therapy 3x a day. I will also be seeing my surgeon Dr English on December 2, 2020
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and there is still time to donate to those who haven’t yet. Thank you so much for all the love and prayers.
I love you all so much

I went for my pre-op appointment this afternoon on Nov 9, 2020 my awesome brother took me. It was completely different then it was in September. They did a Covid test, a Mersa test and took like 10 tubes of blood . They had my EKG from September and my clearance letter as well. I also met with a doctor who will be like my general practitioner while I’m in the hospital. He was very nice he told me what my team of surgeons are planning on doing on Thursday Nov 12, 2020. He said it’s a very big very complex surgery, they will be doing a total hip replacement along with an osteotomy “cutting of the bone “ and repositioning my hip and they will also be taking out my plate and screws that have been with since I was 17. He told me the surgery is expected to be 3 and a half hours long. We finished talking and he finished listening to my lungs heart and stomach. Y’all this is happening in 3 more days. I am praying very hard and I am very scared . I know God has orchestrated this surgery for me with these awesome surgeons. I just hope it does relieve most of my pain. Please continue to pray for me and as always thankyou for your continued love and all of your support.

Update on hip injection from yesterday: I called my doctors office this morning and left a message with the coordinator. She told me he is in surgery today and was supposed to call me back tomorrow. To my surprise he called me this afternoon. I told him everything I was feeling what worked and what didn’t he said he was glad I was very specific in what I felt and didn’t feel. He said he doesn’t know if they are going to do the hip replacement because it’s more of a bone issue and not a cartilage issue so it might be more about rearranging things. He is going to go back and discuss this with his colleagues and they’re gonna come up with a plan and call me back. My surgery is still on Nov 12th. He also said he probably won’t be able to fix the pain when I stand on my leg it’s more about getting me to sit more comfortably.. Thank you so much to everyone for your continued love prayers and support.

I went for my hip injection this afternoon. These were the results. Sitting up Pain went down to a 4-5 the joint started to feel better on the car ride home but there was still pain on the outside of my hip and a little in the back towards my butt and inner thigh , and also when I put weight on my leg I still couldn’t walk. the pressure was also relieved sitting up but it was still there a little bit. Laying down pain went to a 2 I will update my doctor tomorrow and see what he says.
Injection finished I think at 2:45 pm started to wear off about 5:15pm

I got a call from one of my surgeons Dr English this afternoon he presented my case to 10 other surgeons and they have decided to do a test to see if the hip replacement will work in relieving my pain. They will inject me with a numbing medicine in my hip area where the hip replacement will be if it works and I feel no pain than the hip replacement will work if the injection doesn’t work then they will either release some of my muscles or take my hip out. For now my surgery is still Nov 12th please start praying for a positive outcome all of this back and forth is making me very sad I love you all.
My Journey to Independence!!
It’s been an extremely long day. After meeting with a team of doctors and discussing my history and my current state. I will be having surgery November 12, 2020 The plan is to do a hip replacement with a possible osteotomy “cutting of my femur” to reposition my hip correctly they will have to wait and see exactly what they are going to do once they are in there. There is a big possibility that my hip will dislocate after the hip replacement if that happens they will just have to take my hip completely out. Whatever happens I just pray it fixes my pain. Thank you all so much for all the prayers love and support.

On September 3, 2020 my dad and I went to the hospital I said goodbye to my dad and the receptionist took me up to pre-op. I was examined by my orthopedic surgeon and another specialist orthopedic surgeon that is now going to be on my surgical team. After having discussions and speaking with my dad my surgery was canceled. My doctors are coming up with a different plan for surgery. My case is extremely complicated they said there have been only a few cases this extreme and they want to make sure they are doing the absolutely very best for me. After studying my scans my hip is now 40% twisted. My doctors are consulting with a third surgeon and I should have a new appointment to be re examined soon.
Thank you so much to everyone who continues to be in this journey with me. I absolutely wouldn’t be able to get through this without you.

I have an update about my journey in this season. I saw my Orthropedic Doctor on Monday July 20, 2020 . I am having a hip surgery called an Osteotomy next week on September 3. 2020 it’s a major surgery. My orthopedic surgeon will be surgically cutting my femur bone and rotating my hip joint back to where it needs to be it is currently 30% twisted. The medical term is called a Retroversion Hip. He will also be replacing my plate and screws with a long metal screw and cutting some Tendons to help my hip joint fall into place it might be one surgery but it could end up being 3 surgeries based on how well I respond to the 1st surgery. My doctor said we have tried everything we could up until this point with physical therapy, occupational therapy, botox injections and pain management. Although I won’t be walking anymore and my foot may look a little funny. The Goal is to Get out of Pain. If the first surgery doesn’t work and the second surgery doesn’t work the last surgery would be to completely take out my hip joint but let’s pray that the 1st surgery works and is enough. The Recovery will be a very long and extremely hard road. It will be worth it to gain some of my independence back and be out of this horrible pain. I know God has me and he will continue to get me through this Storm. Thank you ALL so much for continuing to be in this season with Layla and myself. Please Continue to Pray for me and Layla it’s ALOT for her to go through as well. We Love you!!
Love Tiffany

July 2 2020 Hi A lot of people have been asking how I am so here is an update:
My condition hasn’t changed at all since last year. I finished physical therapy right at the start of Covid 19. Then I was able to finish Occupational Therapy about a month and a half ago. Since then I had another round of 9 Botox injections and dental surgery . Once I get finished with the rest of my dental surgery . I will be going back to my orthopedic doctor later in July, then I will start therapy over again to increase the effectiveness of the botox injections.
Layla and I love each and everyone of you who are always checking on us and who have continued to be in this life changing season with us. We still need help with funds for my Handicap Accessible Van. We want to thank everyone who has helped us so far. From the bottom of my heart I am so grateful to you.
If you feel led in your heart to donate, it would help greatly it doesn’t matter about the amount. Every dollar counts towards a better quality of life for me.
To all of you who have help us in anyway I hope you know how much we love all of you and there is absolutely no way we could get through this without you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
Love, Tiffany
My Journey to Independence!!
Hi everyone, How are you all doing? Its been such a difficult time not just for me but for everyone around the world. I have been praying harder than I ever have before. Howerver I know God is with me and all of us in the shadows and he is our constant and our rock. He has continually been working on my heart to continue to trust in him and he gives me peace when I need it the most especially in this shadow.
I want to update you on my plan of care at this point. I started occupational therapy a couple of weeks ago. Occupational therapy helps with things like being able to get in and out of the shower, stretching your arm and hand, picking up objects and finding different ways to cut food ect.
As of right now both physical therapy and occupational therapy have ended until sometime in May due to the Corona Virus . I will be going back to my physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor this month for a follow up on my Dysport "botox" injections. I'm praying that we can also come up with another way to alevieate my pain, because it is always constant.
It has been one year since my life changed forever and both my daughter and myself wouldn't be able to get through this without any of you. I hope through my messages that you can feel my love for all of you who continue to be with us and walk through the trenches of this huge trial. Your love, comments, support and prayers are powerful and have blessed us in so many ways. Thank you for continuing to be with us as I continue my Journey to independence.
Sending all of my love to all of you!!!
Hi everyone,
Lots have happened since my last update. My test results for my calcium levels came back all normal. My elevated calcium level is likly due to not being able to walk since almost a year ago. We are trying something different in physical therapy icalled Mirror therapy. The idea behind it is to work the muscles in my right hip without physically moving my leg, by looking into a mirrior at my left leg moving, it actually looks like both legs are moving. This is to work the muscles in my right hip without causing added pain. I've only done it once so we will see how it goes in the upcoming weeks. I don't feel the dysport "botox" injections working this time in my hip only my arm and hand. I will be discussing this with both my therapist and my doctor at my next appointments. I saved the best news for last. I went to a ladies brunch for my house church with the help of my church family last Saturday. It was alot of work to go but it was so much fun and wonderful. I am glad I went and it was so nice to see them. . I thank God every day for my family and for the people he has brought into the lives of my daughter and I to help us during our journey. I want to say a special thank you to everyone who has donated so far as well. This van will be such a blessing for me to go to my appointments by myself and to go visit my family and to go back to my church. This new way of life is extremely difficult for both Layla and myself however Im so grateful for all of you who have been helping us.
Sending all my love!!
My journey to independence!!
Today has been an extremely long day. I saw an Endocrinologist today, because my calcium level has been high. Four tubes of blood work was taken to find out why. I will get the results hopefully by the end of the week. It totally wiped me out today. 'Im so tired of doctor appointments and needles. I'm so tired of being in pain. I'm so tired of being tired. Please pray that one day through all of this I will be able to be independent again and not so tired or in so much pain. I have a beautiful daughter, beautiful family, and beautiful friends that have continued to be here through the trentches of this. I am so grateful for everyone for everything. To all of you who have donated thank you from the bottom of my heart you are going to make such a huge difference in my life and my mobility .
I will keep yall updated!!
Sending all my love!!
My Journey to independence!!
Hi everyone,
Since my last post this is what has been going on. Those dysport njections were rough. The sorness from the injections finally deminished Wednesday just in time for my therapy to start back up yesterday "Thursday" . The game plan for physical therapy will be focused on pain management. This will include ultra- sound heat therapy, something called a tens unit along with stretching and rotating my hip muscles. Please pray that there will be significant improvement this go round. I want to be able to sit up in my chair than 2 hrs so I can hopefully go somewhere without being in so much pain and getting so tired. Thank you to all of my lovely friends and family and everyone who have supported my daughter and I throughout this entire journey. We are so blessed to be surrounded by all of you. I love reading all of your comments and words of inspiration. It helps me so much everytime I read them.
Sending all my love!!
My Journey to Independence!!
Hi everyone, Today I have a doctor's appointment for my Dysport "botox" injections. This will include hips, thighs and the lower parts of my legs, also my right arm, wrist and elbow. A total of 9 injections will be given to me. Today is not going to be fun. The purpose of Dysport "botox" is to help relax my muscles so I can get more range of motion in my extremities during therapy. We are trying to get my hip back into a neutral position. Unfortunately I have to get these injections every 4 months. Could you please say some prayers for me today? These injections are extremely painful and my biggest fear are needles. I am so blessed to have so many people on this journey with me. Thank you all so much for your continued generosity and love.
My Journey to Independence!!
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to come on here and let you know how much I have been truly blessed with everyone's comments. It brightens my day to see them. I was off of therapy for about a month and now Im re- entering for the 2nd round. At Tirr Memorial Hermann. My evaluations went well today and I will be getting back on the schedule soon. I have to go through another round of botox . A total of 9 injections that will include both legs hips and thighs and my right arm, hand, wrist and elbow and start therapy 2 weeks after that to give the botox time to work.
Thank you to everyone who has commented, shared and donated to this page. I still have a long way to go but every little bit helps tremendously. Please keep sharing and commenting. I am truly grateful and so thankful for everyone's support.
