Over the past few years, he has spent hundreds of hours in various hospitals in hopes to improve his condition, however, the journey has been grueling to say the least. Doctors reported that his overall oxygen is not permeating at an efficient level, which is caused by his worsening heart condition. In Kirt’s case, his heart has degenerated over the last decade and needs medical assistance to get back on track.
Amongst the other difficulties during this pandemic, he has lost his sister, mother, and the mother of his kids from the same medical condition. Upon the recent deaths of his family members, this has given him even more motivation to focus on his overall wellness. After receiving an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) and a Pacemaker device, he is on track to being placed on the Heart Transplant through Memorial Transplant Institute list. However due to Covid-19, Kirt has faced several financial hardships including covering medical bills, medical procedures cost, and other related expenses. At the age of 53, it is imperative that he receives a heart transplant operation in hopes to repair his health and to add longevity to his life.
After receiving this heart transplant, Kirt will then be able to live his life anew and get back to doing things he once enjoyed. With your help Kirt can spend more family time with his children and grandchildren and involve himself in hobbies such as playing football, golf, and basketball.
Once his condition improves, Kirt plans to donate to those in his current condition of Heart Failure. The act of “Paying it Forward” is critical to Kirt as he strongly agrees with the idea of lending a helping hand to those in need. Kirt has a donation goal of $100,000 to cover the cost of the heart transplant, associated medical costs, and other related costs.
Kirt is truly grateful for any form of donation in order to help cover the costs of a heart transplant and medical bills.
Family and friends of Kirt Mitchell are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Kirt has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
