Andre needs your support. His liver disease has progressed rapidly over the last 8 months. With Decompensated Cirrhosis now, he is in need of a costly liver transplant.
We are asking for donations and Andre is also looking for a living donor for his liver transplant. Please see if you are a match by taking the first step and filling out the Living Donor Profile from John Hopkins Hospital. Click the link: bit.ly Thank you.
Andre found out when he was very young that he had Hemophilia, meaning that his blood is deficient of a clotting factor that stops bleeding for the rest of us. Because of this deficiency, any time he has suffered an injury, or had a procedure done he needed medical assistance to stop bleeding. Today that is through infusion of the deficient clotting factor. Years ago it was through whole blood transfusions. He received several whole blood transfusions before screening became more stringent, and at some point contracted Hepatitis C. Andre was successfully treated for the Hepatitis, and has no trace of it now, however his liver damage continues to progress.
A lifelong resident of Frederick County, Maryland, Andre Pearre has a wife, 2 adult daughters (Erica and Lillie), a 12 year old son (Colton) at home, 3 adult stepchildren, with grandchildren. Andre has worked in the HVAC industry locally since high school, meeting and making many friends along the way.
Andre is covered under his wife Michelle’s insurance through her employer, but there are many transplant related expenses that are not covered.
Donations will help with copays, non-covered medical bills, medical supplies, transportation for appointments, post transplant medications that he will need for the remainder of his life. We’re told they can be as much as $3K per month.
Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the family’s financial burden of a successful liver transplant for Andre, allowing him many more years to enjoy his children and grandchildren.
We are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Andre to fund non-covered medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Andre has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the GIVE button. Please share this page with your community so they may consider a donation.
Thank you for your support!

Hello. We haven’t used this site for updates yet, but I wanted to test it out. I want to see if people can comment on updates here, or only sign the guest book.
Today is as good a day as any to test this. We are currently at John Hopkins in Baltimore- Andre in the ED, and me in the parking garage, while we wait to see if they are admitting him. He was pretty sick this past week, vomiting all day Thursday and weak, no energy through the weekend. The vomiting subsided Friday afternoon but bloodwork on Friday showed a drop in his blood level. So his liver doc sent him for more bloodwork yesterday, thinking it might have improved. It dropped even more, so she said they need to get him admitted and figure out where/why he’s losing blood.
I also want to thank those that have donated directly here- Jodie & Michelle, Bo & Amy, Robert Schattner. Thanks to all who have donated through the Facebook fundraiser as well, that gets deposited here from Facebook. It is much appreciated!
Sincerely,
Michelle Pearre
