Cystic Fibrosis may have won this round, but it won’t win the next one.

My name is Rachel Clayton, and I have been battling cystic fibrosis my whole life. Unfortunately, it has come to the point of being evaluated for a lung transplant. While I don’t need to be listed immediately, I narrowly avoided it twice in the latter half of 2019. With the addition of Trikafta to my medication regimen, my health has gotten better, but the threat of needing a transplant still looms. That is why I am asking family and friends to help in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to assist with the many expenses associated with transplant.

Despite many challenges, I was able to achieve my dream of going to college for biology and getting a job in my field. However, a few years ago my illness reached a point where it prevented me from working any longer. But I refuse to let that keep me down and have always worked to stay busy and stay positive. Cystic fibrosis may have won this round, but it won’t win the next one. I’m hoping you’ll join my team and fight with me.
